An unaffiliate P.E.O. sister is an ACTIVE sister who has moved and resides in a community other than where her chapter is located, or is an active sister of a disbanded chapter.
The KSC Unaffiliate Committee comprises three members, each assigned to a region of the state. Through the International P.E.O. website, we generate a report of the unaffiliate sisters within our state. The report is edited, formatted, and emailed to all chapter presidents and reciprocity groups within the state in the odd-numbered months from September to May.
So you have the list, what do you do next? Contact any or all of the sisters within your area. Invite those sisters to visit and participate in your chapter meetings, social and small group activities. Help them adjust to their new community. Ask your guest if she prefers a day or night chapter. Any changes or updates in their information should be forwarded back to the KSC Unaffiliate committee.
To welcome an unaffiliate into your chapter requires a favorable voice vote by your chapter, followed by a written Invitation to Transfer. Unaffiliate sisters are active members whose ideas, knowledge, and experiences will enrich your chapter. If she is not interested in your chapter, encourage and support her to get in contact with other chapters in your area.
