PEO started with a group of seven young women 150 years ago on the campus of Iowa Wesleyan College, Mount Pleasant, Iowa. What started as a bond of friendship among seven young women in 1869 has grown to almost 5,700 local chapters with over 200,000 members in the United States and Canada offering the gift of friendship, love, service and philanthropy.

Kansas Is Proud Of Its P.E.O. Heritage. Our first chapter in Meade was formed in 1888 and by 1903 the Kansas State Chapter was organized. Kansas Has Grown To Become The Sixth Largest State In P.E.O With More Than 9,300 Members And 242 Chapters. We Support Six International Philanthropic Projects And Two Kansas Projects. We Are Committed To Providing Educational Support For Women From Graduating High School Seniors To Doctoral Candidates Through Grants, Loans And Scholarships.
