The P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship Fund (IPS) is a fund established in 1949 to provide scholarships for women from other countries for graduate study in the U.S. or Canada.- The maximum award amount is $12,500.
- This project provides scholarships to international women pursuing graduate degrees in the U.S. and Canada to foster global peace through education. IPS recipients carry the spirit of P.E.O. back to their home countries where the degrees they have earned positively impact people’s lives around the globe. Cultivating relationships with colleges and universities in your community is a key step in spreading the word about the P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship (IPS) Fund.
- IPS is the only project that doesn’t require a chapter to sponsor a student; they apply directly to P.E.O.
- IPS offers the Partners in Peace program, allowing chapters to be matched with a recipient for one school year where they can get to know a student well. Qualifying for the Partners in Peace program requires a lump-sum contribution of $500 or more to IPS and the completion of a Partners in Peace Match Form.
- In April 2024, the IPS Board of Trustees awarded $2,255,750 to 205 recipients from 56 different countries. During the 2024-2025 academic year, these exceptional women are studying toward graduate degrees at 92 different universities in 33 states and three Canadian provinces.
- Since 1949, IPS has awarde0 8,926 scholarships to women from 178 different countries, totaling over $53,534,013.
