Our goal for this year is to research funding options and present a sustainable budget for the general fund and the convention budget.
What does that goal look like? It is VERY simple and EXTREMELY lofty. Why? Because our revenue is derived from you – our members. As of March 1, 2023, Kansas had 9,034 active members. During 2022-23, Kansas welcomed 464 new sisters, but we said good-bye to 783 sisters (162 sisters transferred, 173 sisters entered Chapter Eternal, and 448 of our sisters went inactive).
What do these numbers mean for the Finance Committee? The decrease of 319 members results in $3,349.50 less for the general operating fund and our convention revenues decreased $1,435.50. Is this a lot of money? No, but the declining membership trend is continuing and we need your help to reverse this trend.

I would like the finance committee to explore the impact of shortening the convention to one overnight. This could potentially provide significant savings to Kansas State Chapter as well as provide less of a “hardship” for some members to attend (missing work, family, etc)
